This picture was taken in
Christchurch
the morning that Rob left.
We had a bit of time before a city bus that would take us to a hitching
location left, so I took care of an errand. Valerie asked
what
took
me so long, but I didn't tell her. I said, "You'll find out
someday."
And she did when I sent her this picture. We had been looking
for
a penguin costume for Rob the previous day, but we didn't find
it.
This time, it was the "Mother of All Costumes."

During our hitch between
Christchurch
and Oamaru we ran across this
sign. This isn't a joke. Penguins really did cross
there. Some places have "Moose Crossing"
and other places have "Frog Crossing" signs. New Zealand has
"Penguins
Crossing" signs. This is a picture that had to be
taken.
History
demanded it.
