This is a picture that Will and Cheri sent to me. I happened to catch up to them on the track at this stream crossing and they asked me to take their picture.. This picture is really representative of the area.
The track crosses an uncounted number of streams like this. While it had been raining all day, it wasn't hard to cross, but you still need to be careful. That's where those walking sticks they are carrying come in handy. What is so good about this picture is that it shows the vivid greens of the forest. It shows the ferns, mosses, and vegetation that grow everywhere, it shows the rocks and downed trees, and it shows the waters of Fiordlands. While there parts of Fiordlands that aren't in here, this is as good as any as you are going to get in any one picture. Plus it's a good picture of those two. When I first saw this picture, it caught me off guard with its beauty and that could be said was, "Wow!"
